1. Who We Are

DistributorBooks ("we," "us," "our") is a self-hosted software application for MLM and direct sales distributors. It is developed and maintained as a private software product. The software is installed and operated on a server controlled by the software owner.

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, the software owner acts as the data controller — meaning we determine how and why personal data is processed within the application.

2. Data We Collect

We collect data in two ways: information you provide directly, and information generated automatically by your use of the software.

3. How We Use Your Data

4. What We Do Not Collect or Do

5. Third-Party Services

DistributorBooks uses a minimal number of third-party services. Here is exactly what each one receives:

No other third-party services receive your data. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Intercom, HubSpot, or any marketing or analytics platform.

6. Data Storage and Security

DistributorBooks is self-hosted software. Your data is stored on the server where this software is installed — not in a shared public cloud. The security of your data depends significantly on the security of that server.

As a self-hosted application, you are responsible for keeping the server, operating system, PHP, and MySQL up to date, enabling HTTPS with a valid SSL certificate, and restricting server access to authorized users.

7. Data Retention

8. Your Rights

Regardless of where you are located, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

You can view all your data at any time within the application. Use Export Data to download everything we hold about you.

Export all your data as CSV (for spreadsheets) or JSON (for backup/migration) at any time from the Export Data page.

You can edit and correct your account information, financial entries, and profile data at any time within the application.

You can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data. Contact us using the details below. We will process your request within 30 days.

You can object to any processing of your data beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the service you signed up for.

You can request that we stop processing your data beyond basic storage while a dispute or request is being resolved.

9. GDPR — EU and UK Users

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the processing of your personal data. Our legal basis for processing is:

Since DistributorBooks is self-hosted software, cross-border data transfers depend on where you choose to host your server. If you host outside the EU, you are responsible for ensuring your hosting arrangement complies with GDPR Chapter V requirements for international transfers.

10. CCPA / CPRA — California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grants you additional rights:

Categories of personal information collected in the past 12 months: Identifiers (name, email, username); financial information (income, expenses, billing data); commercial information (subscription and payment records); internet activity (login timestamps, session data).

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

11. Children's Privacy

DistributorBooks is a financial management tool intended for adults operating MLM or direct sales businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account and all associated data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the software, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will:
